Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to our server or anyone else.
Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. PNG keeps the image exactly as it is now, but it cannot restore detail that JPG compression already removed. It does stop further loss when you edit and save again.
Why is the PNG file bigger than my JPG?
PNG is lossless, so it stores every pixel instead of discarding detail the way JPG does. Larger files are normal, especially for photos.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. JPG has no transparency, so the PNG keeps the same solid background as the original.
Is there a file size limit?
Each file can be up to 50 MB and 100 megapixels, which covers photos from phones and most cameras. A file that takes longer than 2 minutes to convert is stopped so the page stays usable.
