Shrink JPG, PNG and WebP images for websites, email and upload forms. Set the quality with a slider and compare the sizes before you download. Compression runs in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.

How to use the Image Compressor

  1. 01

    Set the quality

Move the slider: lower numbers give smaller files, higher numbers keep more detail. 75 is a good start.

  2. 02

    Add your images

Drop JPG, PNG or WebP files onto the box above or click it to pick them. Batches are fine.

  3. 03

    Download the smaller files

Each image keeps its format. Compare the sizes, then download them one by one or all at once.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your images are never sent to our server or anyone else.

How does the quality slider work?

For JPG and WebP it sets the encoder quality, from 1 (smallest file) to 100 (most detail). PNG is lossless, so for PNG the slider sets how many colours are kept: 100 keeps them all, and lower values use a palette of 256 down to 16 colours, the same idea tools like TinyPNG use.

Which quality should I choose?

Start at 75. For photos on websites, 60 to 80 usually looks the same as the original at a fraction of the size. Go higher for images you will print or edit, and lower when the smallest file matters most.

What if an image does not get smaller?

Some images are already compressed well. In that case you get the original file back, marked "original kept", never a bigger one.

Is transparency kept?

Yes for PNG and WebP. JPG has no transparency to begin with.

Is there a file size limit?

Each file can be up to 50 MB and 100 megapixels, which covers photos from phones and most cameras. A file that takes longer than 2 minutes to convert is stopped so the page stays usable.
