Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server or anyone else.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on what is inside. PDFs with photos or scans often shrink a lot, while text-only PDFs are already small and may not shrink at all. In that case you get the original file back, never a bigger one.
Can I still select and search the text?
No. Each page is saved as a compressed image, so text in the result can no longer be selected, searched or copied, and links stop working. Keep the original if you need those.
Which quality should I choose?
Medium is a good default for email and sharing. Choose High if the PDF will be printed or has small print, and Low when the smallest file matters most.
